Mohamad Forouzanfar (GS’09, M’14, SM’18) received the PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, Canada, in 2014.
He has over 15 years of experience in developing smart wearable sensing and imaging systems for physiological monitoring and health management. From 2014 to 2017, he held postdoctoral positions in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Ottawa, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University, and Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. From 2017 to 2020, he worked as a Research Scientist in the Center for Health Sciences at SRI International, Menlo Park, CA, USA. As part of his commitment to knowledge and technology translation, he has also consulted several industrial companies and government sectors in the design of wearable medical devices. He is currently an Associate Professor at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Université du Québec, Montreal, QC, Canada. His area of expertise is in applied signal processing, machine learning, and instrumentation for biomedical applications. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles and chapters and co-invented three patents.
Dr. Forouzanfar is a Senior Member of the IEEE and an Associate Editor of IEEE Access.
