Güvenir Kaan Esen
Güvenir Kaan ESEN was born in Sakarya, Turkey in 1984. He received his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering in 2008 and the MSc degree in Energy Science and Technology in 2014 respectively from Istanbul Technical University Istanbul, Turkey. He received PhD in Energy Systems Engineering Department Program at Kocaeli University in 2018, Kocaeli, Turkey. Following the completion of his undergraduate education, he worked as an energy center manager and project engineer at the company of Adapazarı Goodyear Tires from 2008 to 2009. Between 2009 and 2010, he worked as a project engineer at the National Estate General Directorate in Turkey. From August 2010, he has worked for Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) as specialist, test staff, laboratory management system manager and project coordinator respectively. At August 22, 2017, he was appointed as Director for Electrotechnical Laboratory Gebze Directorate. During the working time in TSE, he was worked in several project as project manager for TSE. He directed the Turkey's first accredited Electric Motor Testing Laboratory (0.12 to 90 kW) Installation Project. He also took role in UNDP Promoting Energy-Efficient Motors in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) project in Turkey. He worked for R&D processes of TSE Electric Motors Test Laboratory Capacity Extending (90-375 kW) Project and worked as project manager for TSE leg. He is a chief Assessor and Trainer at the Turkish Standards Institute on the Energy management system EN ISO 50001, Laboratory Management System EN ISO IEC 17025 and Measurement Uncertainty and Method Validation topics. He is a member of the IEC Technical Mirror Committees; MTC108 Energy Management System, ISO/PJ-242 Power Management, MTC122 Rotary Machines (IEC / TC 2-CLC / TC 2) at TSE. He is an IEC Conformity Assessment for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) Technical Expert Assessor and Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) Technical Expert Assessor. His current field of research and interests include measurement uncertainty and method validation, laboratory management system, energy management system, energy efficiency and electric motors. He also interested in PMI project management methodology.
